This guy is some creative artist... he makes me want to dig into my scraps and come up with something just as avant-garde...

A great artist lost, thank you for leaving so much behind for us! Jean-Michel Basquiat
Though I have never met you, I feel deeply compelled to thank you for the greatness you have shown throughout your lifetimes' work. Jean-Michel, your art has deeply impacted me and others, and I feel regret that you became estranged of the demand this world has put onto you.
I understand your compassion to humanity, especially ethnicity, and wished to have been able to meet you and gain a thourough understanding of your experiences that drove your creativity. Your art is touching and telling. Be safe, where you are.

An appreciative note
I want to express my appreciation and gratitude for being able to enjoy the lessons of a great art-teacher. I have enjoyed his knowledge and his encouragement in both Contemporary art and Art-Appreciation. The amount of knowledge that I have gathered and the depth of art that he pushed his students to grasp has truly enlarged my horizon. In only a few months my appreciation for art has more than doubled as I have more understanding for art and realize its impact in our culture and our history. Thank you Mr. Parente

Andre Martins de Barros
My art-class has brought me closer to an artist that had his height in the 1500s, whose name is Acrimboldo Guiseppe, who created a style which used objects to create peoples portraits. And this is why I want to introduce Andre Martins de Barros and show how close the past and the contemporary styles build on each other.

The trophy
Hung Liu, The Trophy, 2001, oil on canvas, 114 x 78
This painting has captured me because I had done a lot of research about the developing countries, and the way the children are carrying the plane that crashed with pride and nobility touches me deeply.
I did enjoy the depth of the painting and the strength of message.
